Scheduling a Recording Session

WireTap Studio recording sessions can be scheduled to begin and end recording at a specified time on any interval. WireTap Studio can even be set to wake your computer from sleep or even power it on if it is turned off at the scheduled time.

NOTE: In order for WireTap Studio to auto wake or power up your computer for a scheduled session, that option has to be set in the general pane of the WireTap Studio preferences and must be enabled by entering an admin's username and password.

To schedule a WireTap Studio recording session:

Go to the Window menu and select Recordings Sessions, or press command 2 to open the Recording Sessions window. Click on New to create a new session, or select an existing session and click on Edit.
Click on the Schedule tab.
Check the Scheduling Enabled option.
Choose the date to begin recording in the calendar. Use the arrows in the top left corner to navigate from month to month.
Set the Start Time and End Time to begin and stop the recording.
Use the Repeats menu to set the recording interval.
The Repeats menu can be set to None for a one time recording, or Daily, Weekly and Monthly.

With the Repeats menu set to Daily...

...the session can be set to record every set number of days.

With the Repeats menu set to Weekly...

...the session can be set to record every set number of weeks on any combination of days of the week. Just click on the day(s) to be included in the schedule.

With the Repeats menu set to Monthly...

...the session can be set to record every set number of months on each specified day(s) of the month, or on the first, second, third, fourth or last week of the month on a specified day of the week.

Each - use this option to schedule the session on any particular day(s) of the month. Just click on the day(s) to be included in the schedule.

On the - use this option to schedule the session on a specified day of the week and a specified week of the month.
Click on OK to save all of the session settings

Once a session has been scheduled the scheduling can be temporarily disabled by deselecting the Scheduling Enabled option in the Schedule pane for that session.
